Minister of Emergency Affairs discusses with the National Commission for Missing Persons in Syria ways to enhance mutual cooperation

During the meeting, both sides emphasized that the file of missing persons is an integral part of the path of justice and truth in Syria, and an important step towards holding the former Assad regime and its allies accountable for the serious violations committed against thousands of Syrian families.
Al-Saleh pointed out that the ministry is ready to provide all kinds of assistance, from files and experiences gained by the ministry's cadres during the long years of work in the Civil Defense Organization, where they documented many missing cases and provided support to the families of the missing within the framework of the justice and accountability program.
Jalghi, in turn, emphasized the importance and duty of revealing the fate of the missing persons, as it is a human right that does not expire, a national duty that cannot be postponed, and a societal responsibility for all Syrians.
President Ahmad Al-Shar'a issued a decree on May 17th forming the National Commission for Missing Persons, tasked with searching for and revealing the fate of the missing and forcibly disappeared persons, documenting cases, establishing a national database, and providing legal and humanitarian support to their families.
