Syrian Minister of Education Muhammad Abdul Rahman Turko confirmed today, Wednesday, that Decree No. (174) for the year 2025, which permits the licensing of private international educational institutions, represents a qualitative leap in the path of developing the education sector, and comes within the government's vision to enhance knowledge investment and a measured openness to leading educational experiences.
The minister Turko explained that this approach aims to diversify sources of knowledge and create new job opportunities for national cadres, noting that introducing positive competitive standards would raise the quality of the educational process, without affecting the status of public education or its national message.
He emphasized that the ministry is committed to nurturing public education as it is the fundamental pillar and the guaranteed right for all citizens of the homeland, affirming that the decree constitutes a qualitative addition that contributes to the integration of the education system and the preparation of generations empowered scientifically and nationally, capable of keeping pace with the challenges of the era and opening up to development horizons, within the constants and priorities of the state.
It is worth mentioning that President Ahmad al-Shara issued yesterday Decree No. (174) for the year 2025, which grants the Minister of Education the authority to license private international educational institutions for natural and legal persons, in accordance with the provisions of Legislative Decree No. 55 for the year 2004 and its amendments.
