"Meta" Attracts AI Researchers from "Open AI" in a Move to Enhance Competition

Recent reports from the Wall Street Journal reveal that Meta has hired three specialized researchers in advanced artificial intelligence from its competitor, Open AI, in a move aimed at enhancing its technological capabilities amidst fierce competition among tech giants.
According to the newspaper, researchers Lucas Bayer, Alexander Kolesnikov, and Xiaohua Zai, who previously worked at Open AI's Zurich office, have joined Meta's artificial intelligence team.
This move comes days after statements by Sam Altman, the founder of Open AI, who indicated that Meta is trying to attract employees from his company with large financial offers amounting to millions of dollars.
A spokesperson for Open AI confirmed the reports without disclosing the identities of the departing researchers or details of their transition.
Meta, which was previously considered a pioneer in open-source artificial intelligence models, faces challenges in retaining its workforce in this field and has postponed the launch of new models expected to compete with products from Google and Open AI.
In a comment highlighting the intensity of competition between the two companies, the newspaper quoted Altman as saying, "I heard that Meta considers us its biggest competitor."
These developments come within the context of escalating competition among major tech companies to develop more advanced artificial intelligence in a market witnessing significant movements in terms of recruitment and investment.
