With the approach of the blessed month of Ramadan and the preparation of millions of pilgrims to perform the rituals, the Saudi Ministry of Health has emphasized the necessity of receiving the yellow fever vaccine as a fundamental preventive measure, warning of the risks of the spread of this contagious disease in light of large gatherings.
The ministry has stressed that obtaining the vaccine should be done before traveling for Umrah at least ten days in advance to ensure full immunity, explaining that those who have been vaccinated within the past five years do not need a new dose, as the vaccine remains effective during this period.
The ministry explained that yellow fever is transmitted through respiratory droplets from coughing or sneezing, making prevention extremely important, urging all those wishing to perform Umrah to schedule an appointment through the "Sehhaty" application to receive the vaccine at adult vaccination clinics.
This guidance is part of the ongoing efforts to enhance preventive health and protect pilgrims, ensuring a safe and risk-free experience, contributing to improving the quality of healthcare services and the level of care provided to citizens and visitors.
