A Libyan representative renews his country's full support for Syria in preserving its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Libya's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Taher Al-Sunni, affirmed his country's full support for Syria and its people in the current circumstances. This came during his meeting with the Syrian Foreign Minister, Asaad Al-Shaaban, in New York.
The Libyan News Agency quoted Al-Sunni as saying on his "X" platform account: "During Libya's presidency of the Arab Group, I was pleased to meet His Excellency Foreign Minister Mr. Asaad Al-Shaaban in New York, where we held a joint meeting in the presence of Arab Group ambassadors and representatives. The Minister provided an update on the latest developments in Syria, the efforts of the new transitional government and its leadership to address the current political, security, and economic challenges, confirming the state's approach to unity through comprehensive Syrian national dialogue."
Al-Sunni added: "We have confirmed Libya's full support for Syria and its people in the current circumstances, and the importance of cooperation, working together, and benefiting from the experiences of both sisterly countries over the past years. The discussion also touched on ways of cooperation and the role of the Arab Group in supporting Syria and its people to recover from the crises they have faced and to preserve its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and stability."
