The Governor of Latakia reveals the developments along the Syrian coast.

The Governor of Latakia, Mr. Mohammed Othman, revealed the arrival of significant military reinforcements for the Syrian Ministry of Defense forces and General Security Administration, which succeeded in breaking the siege on several strategic sites and neutralizing "remnants of the former regime."
Othman explained that these reinforcements helped repel an attack launched by "remnants of the deposed regime" on the Naval College in Jableh, where the armed forces successfully thwarted the attack, while security forces arrested a number of "obsolete regime" elements in various areas.
The Governor announced that security forces will commence a wide-scale security operation today, Saturday, March 8, to pursue the "remnants" in various areas, indicating that the curfew in Latakia city is expected to be lifted after assessing the security situation.
Othman praised the significant cooperation of civilians with the curfew decisions, stating: "We appreciate their cooperation in this critical phase, and stability in the region will soon be achieved, and we will work on securing all areas as soon as possible."
The Governor added that some elements of the "obsolete regime" who were neutralized had made settlements with the relevant authorities, pointing out that they had committed field executions against a number of innocent civilians.
Othman affirmed that "our doors are open to anyone who wishes to return to the right path and surrender to the judiciary, and we believe in everyone's right to justice."
On his part, Colonel Hassan Abdul Ghani, the spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, confirmed that the armed forces regained control of areas that witnessed attacks against General Security personnel, and surrounded the "remnants of the former regime" attempting to destabilize the peace.
Furthermore, the head of the Syrian General Intelligence Directorate, Anas Khattab, emphasized in earlier statements that the security agencies will not tolerate any attempts to reintroduce chaos, stating that anyone who refuses to surrender their weapon will face decisive action.
These developments come within the framework of ongoing security efforts to enhance stability in the Syrian coastal region and ensure the return of security to all parts of the country.
