Kremlin: Putin is ready to resolve the Ukrainian conflict diplomatically despite Trump's criticisms

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov commented on the statements of U.S. President Donald Trump, who said that Russian President Vladimir Putin "disappointed him" regarding the course of resolving the Ukrainian crisis.
Peskov explained that Trump's feelings are understandable given the complexities of the situation, noting that the U.S. president continues to make efforts to help advance the settlement process.
The Russian spokesperson said: "It is natural for President Trump to deal with this issue with great emotion, and we see that the United States, and President Trump personally, are trying to play a role in resolving the crisis."
Peskov confirmed that President Putin remains committed to a political and diplomatic solution to the Ukrainian conflict, adding that he "is making a lot of efforts in this direction." However, he criticized the positions of Kyiv and several European countries, saying they "are pushing towards confrontation and escalating tensions, which hinders the chances for a peaceful settlement."
