Khamenei warns: The necessity of storing essential materials in preparation for unforeseen crises

The Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei recommended that the government increase the stockpile of essential materials in anticipation of "potential risks that cannot be predicted," emphasizing the importance of readiness to face any sudden developments.
Khamenei said during his meeting with the government, according to international media reports: "We recommend providing and storing essential materials, as there are potential risks that cannot be predicted," adding that harmony among various state institutions provides an opportunity to enhance national preparedness.
These directives come at a time when Iran is facing increasing pressure from the United States and Western countries, alongside regional security tensions and the repercussions of the recent confrontation with Israel.
Earlier, Iranian President Masoud Bezhakian stated that Western pressures aim to "weaken Iran and disarm it," asserting that his country will respond strongly to any aggression.
Observers believe that Khamenei's warnings represent a clear signal to prepare for emergency scenarios, whether security, military, or economic, amid ongoing sanctions and declining hard currency reserves.
These directives are also expected to push the government to strengthen food and pharmaceutical supply chains and expand the strategic stockpile.
This step comes amid a global crisis in supply chains and rising food prices, making economic hedging an urgent necessity for countries like Iran that are living under intense economic pressures.
