In a step described as an unprecedented "scientific breakthrough" in the field of orthopedic surgery, a research team from Zhejiang Province in eastern China announced the development of a new medical material called Bone_02, which is a "bone glue" capable of stabilizing broken bone fragments in just three minutes, without the need for screws or metal plates.

This innovation is credited to Dr. Lin Xianfeng, the head of the research team, who drew inspiration from the way oysters adhere to the walls of underwater bridges.

He noticed that oysters have an extraordinary ability to stick even in wet and fluid-rich environments, conditions similar to those found inside the human body during surgery.

Scientists believe that Bone_02 could become an effective alternative to traditional metal implants, especially in cases requiring rapid intervention or in conditions where traditional prolonged surgeries are difficult to perform.
