Amid escalating security tensions in the Sweida Governorate, Lebanese politician and former leader of the Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Jumblatt, called for a political solution to restore security and stability to the Sweida Governorate, emphasizing the necessity for this to be done under the sponsorship of the Syrian government.

Jumblatt, in a statement to "Al-Nahar" newspaper, affirmed that communication with the Syrian government is ongoing, expressing hope for the return of "unity and security to Sweida through a political solution under the auspices of the Syrian authority", while rejecting "external and Israeli protection calls" at the same time.
