Jordanian Civil Defense Teams Assist in Extinguishing Wildfires in Latakia for the Past 4 Days

In a step reflecting regional solidarity in facing natural disasters, teams from the Jordanian Civil Defense arrived Sunday morning, July 6, in the Syrian province of Latakia to assist in extinguishing the fires that broke out four days ago in the forests of the northern countryside.
The Syrian Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management reported that the Jordanian teams entered through the Nasib border crossing in Daraa province and headed directly to the fire sites to support firefighting efforts.
These teams are working alongside 62 teams from the Syrian Civil Defense and forestry brigades, supported by Turkish ground teams, helicopters, and agricultural aircraft, in an attempt to control the fires facing difficulties due to the density of trees and rugged terrain.
The ministry emphasized that this assistance is in line with Jordan's readiness to provide support in such emergency situations. These joint efforts demonstrate the importance of international cooperation in protecting the environment and forests, especially in combating recurring fires during the summer season.
