Jordan is preparing to send a specialized ground team on Sunday morning, along with aerial intervention through helicopter aviation, to contribute to the efforts to extinguish the escalating fires in the Syrian coastal forests.
Syrian Minister of Emergencies and Disasters Raed Al-Saleh confirmed that coordination with the Jordanian side was done through the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure effective and continuous support in facing these fires.
In a phone call with the Turkish Minister of Agriculture, it was agreed to enhance coordination and increase firefighting teams starting from Sunday morning, amidst joint efforts between the countries to address the fire risks extending along the borders.
These steps reflect the keenness of the two sisterly countries to protect forest areas and the environment, and to mitigate the impact of these disasters threatening environmental and societal security in the region.
