Israeli authorities have issued an official warning advising its citizens not to travel to Bolivia, as reported by Hebrew media outlets, without specifying the reasons behind this recommendation. This warning was based on a directive from the Israeli Foreign Ministry urging to avoid traveling to the Latin American country without clear justifications. Bolivia severed diplomatic relations with Israel following the war on Gaza that erupted after the attack by Hamas in October 2023. In January 2024, Bolivia declared its support for South Africa's lawsuit against Israel at the International Court of Justice, accusing Israel of committing genocide in the sector, describing this move as "historic." Bolivia had previously suspended its relations with Israel in 2009 during the rule of leftist President Evo Morales in protest against Israeli attacks on Gaza, before restoring relations between the two countries in 2020 under the presidency of Jeanine Áñez.
