In a stern official response, the Iranian Foreign Ministry urged the G7 to review and correct its policies towards Iran, following the joint statement issued by the member states, which strongly condemned the killings and abductions targeting opponents of the Iranian regime abroad, in addition to the cyber and media attacks targeting Western countries.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry clarified in its statement that the G7 bears responsibility for the policies it follows, which, according to its description, "have endangered the stability and security of the region and the world."
The statement added that these countries ignore the facts and seek to harm Iran through accusations related to the suppression of political opponents beyond its borders.
The G7 countries, along with Australia and New Zealand, issued a joint statement condemning what it described as "cross-border repression" practiced by Iran, affirming that Iranian intelligence agencies have intensified their attempts to kill, abduct, and harass political opponents abroad.
The statement also accused Iran of launching cyber and media attacks aimed at sowing divisions within Western societies and terrorizing Jewish communities, considering these actions a blatant violation of the sovereignty of nations.
The statement emphasized that the international coalition will not remain idle and will continue security cooperation and information exchange to confront these activities.
In a parallel development, the Iranian parliament held an emergency session to discuss the cooperation agreement signed between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Grossi in Cairo.
The agreement aims to enhance cooperation mechanisms in light of the repeated American and Israeli attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities.
For its part, the Iranian Supreme National Security Council confirmed that any hostile action against Tehran or its nuclear facilities, including the reactivation of canceled Security Council resolutions, will lead to the suspension of the recent arrangements with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The council clarified that all reports and future actions will be subject to its approval before being submitted to the agency, affirming that these arrangements have been reviewed by the specialized nuclear committee.
This event comes amid rising tensions between Iran and Western countries, amidst escalating mutual accusations, reflecting the fragility of the security and political situation in the region and the world.
