Iran announces the death of two deputy chiefs of staff in Israeli attacks... with the death toll rising to 78.

Official Iranian media announced today, Saturday, June 14, the killing of two deputy chiefs of staff of the Iranian armed forces, Major General Gholam Reza Mehrabi, head of military intelligence affairs, and Major General Mehdi Rabbani, deputy head of operations, during a series of Israeli attacks targeting sites inside Iran. The announcement of their deaths came today without specifying the exact timing of the incident.
Sources mentioned that the victims joined a growing list of Iranian military leaders who have fallen in Israeli attacks that began on Friday, June 13, resulting in the death of at least 78 people, including high-ranking military officials.
In a related development, two Iranian government officials confirmed on Friday the killing of General Ismail Qaani, the commander of the Iranian Quds Force responsible for Iran's agents in the Middle East, who had succeeded Major General Qasem Soleimani after his assassination in a US airstrike in 2020, as reported by the American newspaper "The New York Times."
Iranian and Israeli media reports indicated that the Israeli attacks, which targeted multiple sites inside Iran early Friday, also resulted in the deaths of several military leaders and scientists. In a swift response, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei stated that "their successors and colleagues will resume their duties immediately."
On the other hand, two regional sources revealed to Reuters agency that at least 20 senior Iranian military leaders, including the commander of the Revolutionary Guard and the commander of the air and space forces, were killed during the Israeli strikes, considered the largest of its kind on Iranian soil.
