Investigation into Explosion Targeting Jewish Synagogue in Liège, Belgium

The Belgian authorities have launched an investigation into an explosion that damaged a Jewish synagogue in the city of Liège in eastern Belgium, according to official sources on Monday.

The Belgian federal prosecutor's office, which specializes in terrorism and organized crime, announced that it is taking over the investigation into the incident, while the mayor of Liège condemned what he described as an "anti-Semitic act."

The incident comes one day after an explosion occurred near the American embassy in Oslo, which caused limited damage, while Norwegian police suggested that the motive behind it was "terroristic."
