Senior officials in the Israeli army have warned that halting the 'Gideon's Caravans' operation, the ground campaign aimed at full control of Gaza as stated by Benjamin Netanyahu, will end the achievements in the war against Hamas.
Channel 13 quoted the Israeli army as saying: 'We have created a gap between civilians and Hamas, there is no hunger in Gaza, and the progress in the fighting is significant. This is not the Battle of Berlin, it is a systematic operation to dismantle a terrorist organization.'
Senior officers in the Israeli army also expressed their opposition to the possibility of halting the 'Gideon's Caravans' operation, warning that ceasing fighting in Gaza would hinder the significant progress in dismantling Hamas' infrastructure.
One officer stated: 'The Israeli Defense Forces do not hesitate. This is not the Battle of Berlin, it is a systematic operation to dismantle a terrorist organization.'
