EgyptAir issued an official statement to clarify what is being circulated on social media and some media platforms regarding the rise in return ticket prices from Gulf countries to Cairo, confirming that this information is inaccurate and gives a misleading picture of its policies during the current exceptional circumstances.

The company emphasized that its national role and responsibility towards Egyptians stranded abroad prompted it to establish an exceptional operating plan to facilitate their return, through daily flights to various destinations, focusing on transporting passengers who have pre-booked tickets on EgyptAir flights without any additional fees, as these passengers constitute the vast majority of available seats.

To alleviate the burdens on travelers, the company announced the cancellation of ticket change penalties during this period, as part of its support for customers and to facilitate their return as quickly as possible, amid the current circumstances in the region.

EgyptAir also stressed that the number of seats available for sale is very limited, not exceeding 5% of the seating capacity, and these seats are priced according to market prices compared to other companies, due to the high insurance costs related to operational risks in high-tension areas, in addition to the company bearing the costs of empty outbound flights.

The company clarified that flight operations are conducted according to the instructions of the civil aviation authorities in the concerned countries, taking into account the exceptional circumstances in the region, affirming its full commitment to providing a safe and quick flight for Egyptians wishing to return to their homeland.
