In the context of honoring the elders of the Lebanese capital, the Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, Sheikh Abdul Latif Darian, affirmed that any improvement in the situation in Syria would have a positive impact on Lebanon, emphasizing the depth of the relationship between the two countries.

During the ceremony, Darian said, according to the Lebanese National News Agency: "If our beloved sister Syria is well, we in Lebanon will be well," explaining that "we can only be loyal to our people, our nation, and our surroundings as well."

These statements came after a visit by Darian at the head of a delegation from Dar al-Fatwa to Damascus, where he met with Syrian President Ahmed al-Shar'a at the People's Palace.

During the meeting, the Lebanese Mufti awarded President Shar'a the Order of Dar al-Fatwa, in appreciation of his Arab stances and efforts in serving Syria, according to official sources.
