France Bans Smoking in Public Places to Protect Children from Secondhand Smoke

The French government has announced the implementation of a ban on smoking in a number of public places starting tomorrow, Sunday.
This comes under a decree published in the official gazette today, with the aim of protecting children from secondhand smoke.
The news station 'BFM' quoted the French government as saying that the ban includes beaches, public parks, bus stops, as well as the vicinity of schools, libraries, and swimming pools.
