Fires in the forests of Latakia countryside continue to spread dangerously, reaching residential areas in the villages of Qastal Ma'af, Kasab, Al-Basit, Beit Al-Qusayr, Fernlak, Zghreen, and Jabal Al-Turkman.
The flames have consumed large areas of forests in the Fernlak region, threatening the remaining vegetation cover in the area, while firefighting teams continue intensive efforts to control and extinguish the fires.
Kasab road has been completely closed after the flames reached the main roads in the area, causing traffic disruption and increasing fears of the fire spreading to new populated areas.
