A fatal bullet kills a young man at the home of a police officer's son in Egypt.

The 15th of May area in Cairo witnessed a tragic incident involving the killing of an Egyptian young man by the son of a police officer, due to a stray bullet fired accidentally while he was playing with a licensed pistol.

The incident occurred on the evening of February 19th inside the house of the retired police officer's son, where the deceased was with his friend, the officer's son, and another friend.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the officer's son was playing with a licensed pistol belonging to his father, which resulted in a random shot hitting his friend unintentionally, leading to his death.

The weapon used in the incident was found, and the person responsible was immediately arrested and presented to the public prosecution, which decided to detain him pending further investigations.

Regarding the rumors circulating that the incident resulted from a verbal altercation between the deceased and the officer's son, the Ministry of Interior confirmed in an official statement that these claims are false, and that the incident occurred due to reckless behavior while playing with the weapon.

The ministry emphasized that the investigations are being conducted transparently, and that everyone is equal before the law, regardless of the perpetrator's influence or status.

Amid escalating rumors in some media outlets, the Ministry of Interior warned citizens against falling for misleading news aimed at stirring up discord and destabilizing internal security.
