The Ministry of Emergency Situations and Disaster Management in Syria has announced the formation of a joint field operations room in cooperation with several local organizations to enhance efforts to extinguish the raging fires in the forests of northern Latakia countryside.

Minister Raed Al-Saleh stated on the "IX" platform: "The room has started its work by providing water transport vehicles to support firefighting teams, organizing trained volunteer teams to combat fires, as well as deploying heavy machinery to create firebreaks to prevent the spread of flames."

Al-Saleh praised the role of participating organizations and volunteers, saying: "We appreciate the efforts of everyone contributing in these exceptional circumstances, whether through field support or logistics."

It is worth noting that the firefighting teams have been working continuously for four days amid significant challenges such as difficult weather conditions, high wind speeds, as well as the spread of war remnants that hinder operations and increase risks for the working personnel.
