A passenger plane belonging to "Wizz Air", which was carrying journalists and photographers returning from the peace summit in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, was forced to make an emergency landing at Naples International Airport in Italy after some passengers reported hearing an explosion in the luggage compartment, while others noticed smoke on board the plane.
The flight took off on Tuesday heading to Rome, and the plane was transporting journalists who covered the summit attended by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and his American counterpart Donald Trump, along with leaders from more than 20 countries, to discuss efforts to end the Gaza war.
Wizz Air stated that the emergency landing was due to an unexpected technical issue, confirming that the plane landed safely and all passengers disembarked without injuries. The pilots also denied any signs of smoke or fire during the flight.
Immediately upon landing, fire and emergency teams rushed to the plane as a precautionary measure to ensure everyone's safety.
