The University of Latakia held an important extraordinary session of the council to discuss the current status and future needs of the university, with a special focus on developing the infrastructure to enhance the quality of education and scientific research. The session, attended by council members and academic officials, reviewed several executive studies of strategic projects aimed at enhancing the university environment and meeting technological and administrative development requirements.

Among the extensively discussed projects was the project to secure electricity for all university buildings, considered a priority to ensure the continuity of educational and administrative operations efficiently. Additionally, a project to treat well water within the campus using modern and advanced techniques was discussed, contributing to providing clean and environmentally friendly water to support various university services.

The council also discussed the development of public transportation within the campus, studying the possibility of allocating special cars for deans, institute directors, and department heads to facilitate their mobility and improve university management. This was part of a comprehensive plan to improve infrastructure and services provided to faculty and staff members.

According to the university's official Facebook page, the council emphasized the importance of updating scientific devices and laboratories to keep pace with modern developments in research and education. Furthermore, there was a focus on enhancing digital transformation in the university through developing e-learning and updating technological infrastructure, including the possibility of updating the computer center and university magazine to support education quality, and improve automation in exam procedures and administrative processes.

This meeting is part of the ongoing efforts by the University of Latakia to develop its infrastructure and improve the learning and scientific research environment, aiming to provide the best conditions for students and staff, and enhance the university's position locally and regionally. These initiatives reflect the university's commitment to progress, innovation, and keeping up with scientific and technological advancements to ensure a better future for its academic community.
