The Egyptian Meteorological Authority has issued an urgent warning regarding severe disturbances in the sea and weather conditions on several northern coasts, urging the relevant authorities and citizens to take all necessary measures to mitigate the effects of the weather fluctuations, especially concerning maritime navigation.
* Maritime Disturbances and Strong Winds
The authority mentioned that there is a noticeable disturbance in maritime navigation on the coasts of Matrouh, Alamein, Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr El Sheikh, Damietta, and Port Said, where:
Wind speeds range between 40 to 60 kilometers per hour.
Wave heights reach between 2.5 to 3.5 meters, posing a danger to maritime activities.
* Weather Conditions Today in Egypt
Regarding the weather conditions today, Tuesday, the authority clarified that:
The country is experiencing moderate autumn weather, tending to be warm during the day in the northern regions up to Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt.
The weather at night is moderate and tends to be cool in the late hours, with a slight decrease in temperatures.
* Rain and Low Clouds
The meteorological authority also warned of continued light to moderate rain during the daytime, especially in the areas of Matrouh, Sallum, Alamein, and Alexandria, accompanied by the proliferation of low and medium clouds.
The cloud cover will expand to include areas of the northern Delta, which may lead to light drizzle that does not significantly affect scattered areas of northern Egypt up to Greater Cairo and the canal cities during the morning hours.
* Wind Activity Contributing to Mild Weather
The authority also pointed to wind activity in areas of:
• Northwestern coasts
• South Sinai
• North Upper Egypt
This contributes to mild weather during the day and night, despite its impact on maritime navigation.
* Alert for Citizens and Tourists:
It is advised to avoid going into the sea or engaging in any maritime activities on the mentioned beaches, especially with expectations of continued winds and high waves in the coming hours.
