Foreign Minister of Egypt, Sameh Shoukry, had a phone call with his Turkish counterpart, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, to discuss ways to support Egyptian-Turkish relations and the developments in the Middle East. During the call, they reviewed the developments in the region, particularly the situation in Gaza in light of the humanitarian crisis and the ongoing Israeli aggression. Shoukry briefed Çavuşoğlu on Egypt's efforts to achieve a ceasefire, release hostages and prisoners, and deliver humanitarian, medical, and shelter aid to Gaza. Shoukry praised the progress in bilateral relations in various fields, high-level visits, and expressed eagerness to continue cooperation, especially in economic, investment, and trade cooperation, considering the available potentials of both countries. The call also involved exchanging views on the developments in Libya, emphasizing the importance of holding presidential and parliamentary elections simultaneously as soon as possible. Shoukry reiterated Egypt's stance on preserving the unity and integrity of Libyan territories and the exclusive ownership of Libyans over the political process.
