The head of the Egyptian Actors' Syndicate, Ashraf Zaki, announces his retirement from leading the syndicate after 12 years of service

Artist Ashraf Zaki, the head of the acting professions in Egypt, announced on Thursday evening his retirement from his position after nearly 12 years at the helm of the syndicate, through an official statement.
Zaki expressed in the statement his pride in the years he led the syndicate, affirming that he "fulfilled his duty to the best of his ability throughout the past years he spent serving his colleagues and the members of the general assembly."
He explained that the timing of the decision comes after it was time to hand over the responsibility, saying: "The moment has come for me to step down from my position, so that other colleagues can continue the journey of work and giving, after I lived within the syndicate years that I consider among the best days of my life."
The former head concluded his statement by affirming his ongoing connection to the syndicate, pointing out that: "I am leaving my official position, but I will always remain a loyal son of this great institution, supporting it with all the love and sincerity I have."
It is worth mentioning that Ashraf Zaki has held the position of head for more than 12 intermittent years, alongside his rich artistic career that included his participation in dozens of works, most notably the series "Hidden Worlds" and "The Owner of Happiness" with artist Adel Imam, and the series "Words on Paper" with artist Haifa Wehbe, in addition to the series "Umm Kulthum."
