Egg prices continue to decline these days, marking unprecedented drops. Many citizens in Hama have noted that eggs are now more accessible due to their affordability, becoming a staple in family breakfasts and dinners, and a top choice for children after french fries. Some vendors mentioned that table eggs are the best-selling post-holiday item, offering enticing deals to consumers due to abundant supply. The price for a 1600g plate is around 14,000 Lira currently, two plates for 27,000 Lira. A 1800g plate costs 19,000 Lira, while a plate weighing 2kg or more is priced at 23,000 Lira. This phenomenon is attributed to the resumption of work and production in dozens of poultry farms that were previously inactive due to high production and marketing costs, in addition to traders sourcing this essential food item from northern Syria at suitable prices for retailers.
