The Chinese smartphone company Honor has launched a new feature that relies on artificial intelligence from "Google," allowing static images to be converted into short video clips.
This feature will be available for the first time to users of the "Honor400" and "Honor400Pro" phones, which will be released on May 22, 2025.
The feature is based on Google's "Veo 2" model, which uses artificial intelligence to create five-second video clips based on static images.
Images can be converted in both portrait and landscape modes, and creating the video takes between one to two minutes.
This feature has been directly integrated into the "Gallery" app on the new Honor phones, designed to be simple and user-friendly, with no option to add text to the images, relying entirely on artificial intelligence.
The image-to-video conversion feature will be available to owners of "Honor 400" phones for free for two months, with a maximum of ten video clips per day.
In the future, users will need to subscribe to a service from "Google" to continuously use this feature, but details of this subscription have not been disclosed yet.
This feature is part of the paid "Veo 2" service offered by "Google" through "Google Cloud," where "Google" charges 50 cents per second of produced video, but this service is only available to certified users.
The new feature is a significant addition for Honor phone users, enhancing their experience in using artificial intelligence to create video clips quickly and easily.
