Hour after hour, the extent of the fears that could be generated by the repercussions of the Israeli-Iranian war is revealed. Between Gulf fears, Pakistani caution, and preparedness, Iraq emerges as one of those countries entering the escalation whirlpool perhaps without calculating the consequences.
In a new step, major oil companies have withdrawn a number of their employees from Iraq.
The Iraqi government-owned Basra Oil Company issued a statement today, Monday, announcing that major oil companies such as Eni, BP, and Total Energies operating in Iraqi fields have evacuated some of their foreign employees.
Reuters also reported that the British company BP has evacuated its employees from the Rumaila oil field in Iraq.
