Dubai Public Prosecution has revealed new details about the case of Gulf citizen Rawan bin Hussein, which sparked widespread controversy on social media platforms after she was accused of assaulting police officers and causing a disturbance in a public place.

According to a statement issued by the Public Prosecution via the "eX" platform, Ms. Rawan bin Hussein was arrested while intoxicated, where she caused chaos and verbally and physically assaulted Dubai police officers while they were performing their duties, including directing abusive language at them. The statement also mentioned that she stole a piece of chocolate from a closed store in a hotel and broke a vase worth 5000 dirhams.

The statement added that investigations proved her involvement in these actions, prompting the Public Prosecution to refer the case to the Criminal Court in Dubai for consideration and necessary legal action.

The Public Prosecution emphasized in its statement that the rule of law in Dubai applies to everyone without discrimination between citizens and residents, stressing that any attempt to violate the law will face full legal accountability.

The Public Prosecution concluded its statement by affirming that the law remains the primary reference for protecting the rights and duties of every individual living in or visiting Dubai, expressing its full commitment to ensuring justice and equality for all.

This statement comes in response to what has been circulated on social media platforms regarding allegations of mistreatment of Rawan bin Hussein, where the Public Prosecution was keen to clarify the facts and put an end to the rumors surrounding the case.
