"Al-Batal" is based on an idea inspired by the play "The Queen's Visit" by the late writer Mamdouh Adwan, where viewers are transported to the atmosphere of a Syrian village living in the midst of complex conflicts between good and evil, and between power ambitions and the voice of conscience.
The events revolve around a man who becomes a hero in his village after rescuing a teenager from a fire, but soon finds himself facing a fierce opponent seeking to control everyone, starting a fateful struggle titled "Who will rule the village?"

Syrian director Laith Hajjo returns to Syrian drama with a work bearing his distinctive artistic touch, bringing together a constellation of screen stars, including: Bassam Kousa, Mahmoud Nasr, Hussein Abbas, Farah Bsaiso, Noor Ali, Khaled Shabat, and Wisam Reda.
The screenplay is written by Rami Kousa in collaboration with Laith Hajjo, while the production is handled by "Bentalins" company.
