American nutritionist Kendall McIntosh, a member of the Global Wellness Council, confirmed that some fruits contain natural hormones and minerals that help regulate the body's biological clock and repair cells during the night, enhancing deep sleep.

McIntosh explained in her talk to "Fox News" that food not only provides us with calories but also interacts with our biological systems, affecting mood, sleep, and metabolism, especially with the changing seasons and shorter daylight hours, where the body needs natural support to produce melatonin, the hormone responsible for sleep.

Here are the top 3 fruits that help you sleep deeply:

1 _ Sour cherries:
Sour cherries are considered one of the most important fruits that enhance sleep, as they contain natural melatonin, the hormone secreted by the pineal gland in the brain to regulate the sleep-wake cycle.
They also contain tryptophan, the amino acid that the body uses to produce serotonin and melatonin, which helps calm the nervous system and improve sleep quality.


2 _ Kiwi:
Studies, including one published in 2024 in the National Library of Medicine involving professional athletes, have shown that consuming kiwi regularly before sleep for four weeks significantly improves sleep quality, duration, and daytime performance.
This is thanks to its richness in antioxidants, magnesium, and serotonin, which help calm the nervous system.


3 _ Fresh grapes:
Grapes are an ideal choice as a snack before bedtime, as they also contain natural melatonin and help relax without increasing calorie intake.
It is recommended to eat fresh, unprocessed grapes instead of juices or raisins to maintain their full nutritional value.

However, good sleep does not only depend on food, as McIntosh emphasizes that evening habits play a significant role in sleep quality.
Therefore, she advises reducing exposure to blue light from screens before bedtime, keeping the room dark and at a moderate temperature, and avoiding heavy meals and stimulants like caffeine in the last hours of the day.

She concluded by saying: "When we combine a natural diet with a healthy evening routine, we lay the foundation for deeper sleep, better mood, and lasting vitality."
