The death of 13 Sudanese refugees due to hunger in the Qaqa camp in Chad.

The "Sudan Doctors Network" announced today, Saturday, May 24, the death of 13 Sudanese refugees due to hunger and deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the Qaqa refugee camp in Chad during the past week.
A statement posted on the network's official Facebook page stated: "Sudanese refugees in the Qaqa camp in Chad are suffering from catastrophic humanitarian conditions due to food and medicine shortages, with diseases spreading as a result of the neglect of international and humanitarian organizations towards the refugees in the camp, and the lack of adequate food supply, leading to the death of 13 people due to hunger in the past week, threatening the fate of thousands of Sudanese in the camp."
The statement pointed out that the camp houses 21,000 Sudanese refugees, amid warnings of a worsening humanitarian crisis due to the lack of urgent aid delivery.
The network called on UN and international organizations to intervene effectively to provide food and medicine, and prevent further displacement in search of livelihoods.
The network expressed deep regret for the tragic situation of Sudanese refugees in Chad, criticizing the international ignorance of their plight, and confirming that what is happening "exposes organizations that make excuses, especially at border crossings, for delivering aid amidst the suffering of thousands of Sudanese in camps in Chad."
