Damascus Football Championship concludes its events with the matches of the final round.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, May 14th, and the day after tomorrow, Thursday, May 15th, the final matches of the Damascus Football Tournament will take place with the third and last round games. The Army and Al-Wahda teams have secured the top spots in the first and second groups respectively, making the upcoming matches merely formal without affecting the final results.
The Army team topped Group 1 after two consecutive wins, defeating Al-Karama 3-2 and Al-Futowa 1-0. In the last match of the group, Al-Karama will face Al-Futowa tomorrow at Al-Fayhaa Stadium in a match considered as preparation for the league resuming next week.
In Group 2, Al-Wahda dominated the top spot with two consecutive wins over Al-Shurta and Al-Wathba, both with a clean sheet of 2-0. Al-Wathba will play against Al-Shurta the day after tomorrow at Al-Fayhaa Stadium in a non-competitive match after Al-Wahda secured the first place.
So far, the tournament has witnessed four matches, all ending in a win for one of the teams, with a total of ten goals scored. The Army and Al-Wahda are leading the top scorers' list with four goals each, while Al-Karama has scored only two goals. On the other hand, Al-Shurta, Al-Futowa, and Al-Wathba failed to score any goals.
An interesting aspect of the tournament is the awarding of four penalties, three of which were successfully converted by players: Nsouh Nakkedli for Al-Karama, Azaddin Awad for the Army, and Osama Omari for Al-Wahda, while Abdullah Najjar missed his penalty after hitting the post. The tournament also saw one red card given to Yahya Al-Karak of Al-Wahda.
The audience eagerly awaits the crowning of the tournament's top scorer, currently contested by Ahmed Bakir of the Army and Osama Omari of Al-Wahda, with each having scored two goals so far.
