Damascus expresses its solidarity with Kabul and mourns the victims of the earthquake in Afghanistan

Syria expressed its deep solidarity with Afghanistan following the devastating earthquake that struck the eastern part of the country and claimed the lives of hundreds, extending condolences to the Afghan government and people.
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in an official statement:
"Syria expresses its deep sorrow and grief over the earthquake incident that occurred in several provinces of eastern Afghanistan, resulting in the death of 800 people and injuring more than 2500 others, some of whom are still under the rubble."
The statement added that Damascus extends its heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy to the Afghan leadership and the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured, and affirming "Syria's complete solidarity with the friendly Afghanistan in this painful tragedy."
Afghan authorities had announced that the death toll had risen to 800, with more than 1500 injured, while search operations for survivors continue amid an urgent need for humanitarian and medical assistance.
