End of Security Operation in Al-Bukamal and Arrest of Over 50 Wanted Individuals

Colonel Durar Al-Shamlan, the commander of internal security in Deir ez-Zor province, announced today, Monday, July 7, the end of the security operation launched in the Al-Bukamal area in the eastern countryside of the province, which began on Sunday. The campaign resulted in the arrest of over 50 individuals wanted in various cases.
A statement from the Syrian Ministry of Interior stated that the campaign, carried out by the internal security forces in Deir ez-Zor, covered the city of Al-Bukamal and its surrounding areas, characterized by precise planning and comprehensiveness. Colonel Al-Shamlan explained that the detainees were involved in various crimes, including "possession of weapons, illegal trafficking, drug trafficking, and threatening the security and safety of citizens".
The statement also revealed the arrest of a number of individuals affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, without disclosing the exact number or details of their affiliation.
Al-Shamlan emphasized that this operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat anything that threatens the security and stability of the region, praising the great cooperation between the residents and the security forces, which played a decisive role in the success of the campaign. He added that the security centers in Al-Bukamal are operating around the clock to receive citizens' reports and complaints.
It is worth noting that this campaign represents the second phase of extensive security operations in Deir ez-Zor, following a previous phase that focused on the city of Al-Mayadeen, in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense, during which cells affiliated with the former regime were dismantled, and large quantities of weapons and ammunition were seized _according to the statement_ used in "intimidating civilians and undermining local security".
