Following the US airstrikes on nuclear facilities inside Iranian territories, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Finance announced the activation of its emergency plan to ensure the continuity of financial and service operations, and to protect governmental performance under various circumstances.
In an official statement published on the ministry's "X" platform, the ministry explained that these measures come "to enhance national preparedness and improve governmental readiness efficiency, within the integrated state system to address any emergency", based on direct directives from the Cabinet.
The Ministry of Finance confirmed that it has started preparing shelters inside the Ministries Complex building, the eastern and southern wings, with all its technical and service equipment, to accommodate about 900 people, noting that these shelters are classified as C4 category and in excellent condition.
Storage areas have also been allocated in the eastern parking lot for use when needed as part of expanded precautionary measures.
In addition, the plan included activating central financial systems (Oracle and GFMIS) through fully secured alternative devices, enabling remote work for employees through a protected electronic environment using specialized security software, ensuring the continuity of vital activities without disruption.
The ministry is currently continuously updating the emergency plan through direct coordination with relevant authorities, primarily the Ministry of Interior represented by the Civil Defense Administration.
A coordination meeting has already been held in this context, aiming to enhance readiness levels and ensure immediate response to any potential developments in the region.
These measures come amid escalating regional tensions following the US strike targeting 3 nuclear facilities in Iran, in a dangerous development that brings nuclear tensions to the forefront, raising international concerns about regional security and the expected responses from Tehran.
