Canada is considering joining the American "Golden Dome" at a cost of 61 billion dollars.

President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday, May 27, that Canada will bear costs of up to $61 billion if it joins the American "Golden Dome" missile defense system.
Last week, Trump hinted at Canada's desire to participate in the project, while Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney confirmed that his government is considering potential investments in the system, which has a total cost of $175 billion.
This comes after Trump's announcement on Tuesday, May 20, of the United States' plan to build a missile shield under the name "Golden Dome," stating at the White House: "We are talking about a cost of $175 billion for the Golden Dome," noting that Congress will allocate $25 billion as initial funding for the project.
Trump also mentioned that the structural design of the system has already been selected, expecting it to start operating by the end of his current presidential term. He also revealed the appointment of General Michael Gilday from the U.S. Space Force as the project's lead director.
