The British police said today, Wednesday, that they have charged a man with terrorism-related offenses and possession of a bladed weapon after he was arrested for attempting to enter the Israeli embassy in London. The police stated that they arrested the man when he tried to enter the embassy in West London on Monday evening without permission, on suspicion of attempting to commit a public order offense, trespassing on a site with a special status, and possessing an offensive weapon. Investigators said on Wednesday that the suspect, Abdullah Sabah Al-Badri, 33, is accused of preparing for a terrorist act and two charges related to possession of a bladed weapon. Dominic Murphy, the head of London's counterterrorism unit, said, "We remain in close contact with officials at the Israeli embassy, and we appreciate that these charges will be concerning for them." Al-Badri is scheduled to appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court in London later on Wednesday.
