ABC News reported on Wednesday that a U.S. official stated there has been progress in talks with Iran, but several details still need to be discussed.
The official added that the Iranian side informed Washington of its intention to return in two weeks with detailed proposals to bridge the remaining gaps.
He noted that Tehran proposed the idea of suspending uranium enrichment, but it does not meet the demand of U.S. President Donald Trump.
He explained that Washington sees the possibility of reaching an agreement if Tehran can formulate a specific proposal that includes clear oversight of its nuclear program in exchange for attractive economic incentives.
The United States is also considering lifting financial sanctions and canceling the ban on Iranian oil sales as part of any potential understanding with Tehran.
