Al-Shaibani participates in a meeting of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Syrian caretaker government, Asaad al-Shibani, announced his participation today for the first time in Syria's history in the Executive Council meeting of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague.
This came after his departure from Egypt following his participation in the emergency Arab summit held in Cairo to discuss the situation in Gaza and Palestine.
Al-Shibani stated via "X platform": "Today, I participate for the first time in Syria's history in the Executive Council meeting of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague. This meeting represents Syria's commitment to international security and a tribute to those who lost their lives due to suffocation at the hands of the previous regime."
The Syrian minister added: "I am leaving Egypt after my participation in the extraordinary summit on Palestine. Alongside President Ahmed al-Shar'a, we held important discussions about the Arab region and its future. We thank the Arab Republic of Egypt and its Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry for their warm reception and hospitality."
Al-Shibani had participated alongside President Shar'a in the emergency Arab summit held in the Egyptian capital Cairo, where Arab leaders discussed the situation in Gaza and emphasized the necessity of Arab solidarity to support the Palestinian cause.
