Airstrike targets prominent drug trafficker in rural Sweida.

A military aircraft believed to be affiliated with the Jordanian Air Force carried out an airstrike yesterday evening, Thursday, May 15, targeting a house under construction in the village of Al-Shu'ab, southeast of the Syrian province of Al-Suwayda, near the border with Jordan, according to "Sham Network" news.
Local sources reported by "Sham Network" stated that the strike targeted the house of Mohammed Eid Al-Ramthan, one of the key suspects in managing drug smuggling networks in southern Syria, belonging to a Bedouin tribe in the area. Details of human or material losses resulting from the bombing have not been disclosed yet.
Eyewitnesses reported that the explosion from the airstrike was intense, with its sound reaching neighboring villages, while residents observed warplanes flying in the area.
This operation is part of a series of similar airstrikes carried out by Jordan in recent months as part of what it calls a "preventive response strategy" to combat drug and weapon smuggling across the borders.
Jordan has intensified its military operations against smuggling networks in southern Syria amid escalating activities attributed to criminal gangs involved in smuggling drugs and weapons into Jordanian territories.
