Adil Rami clarifies his statements about Lamine Yamal: "I did not intend to insult"

Former French national team defender and 2018 World Cup winner Adil Rami revealed that his recent statements about Barcelona star Lamine Yamal were taken out of context, confirming that they were not meant to insult the player or his family, but rather focused on some of his off-field behaviors.
Rami said during a broadcast on the "Twitch" platform, as reported by the Spanish newspaper "Marca": "From a football perspective, no comment, he is a wonderful player who will win the Ballon d'Or and perhaps the Champions League and everything he wants, but from a human perspective, I can't even stand to see him for two months. For me, his actions are disgusting."
Later, the French star returned to clarify his position on Instagram, after his words sparked widespread controversy, stating that his statements were "misunderstood," according to "Goal" website. He added: "I woke up this morning and found myself in the midst of a bad buzz, so I would like to clarify that the statements were misunderstood."
Rami emphasized that his criticism was not directed at the football talent of Yamal, saying: "I was not talking about football player Lamine Yamal, not about his talent, which is huge and unnecessary to talk about, but about some recent situations that, in my opinion, indicate a risky future if he continues on this path."
He concluded his statements by giving advice to the 16-year-old player: "In short, I still hope he returns to his senses, because he has the ability to make a mark in his era."
It is worth mentioning that Yamal faced harsh criticism in Spain after using a group of dwarfs at his birthday party, which sparked widespread anger and calls for legal accountability.
