In a tragic development, the renowned Egyptian artist Naeem Issa, who has delighted the audience with his exceptional performances over the years, is facing a severe health crisis that has required him to be admitted to the intensive care unit at a hospital in Alexandria.
Issa is suffering from acute pneumonia, necessitating the use of ventilators to assist him with breathing.
Sami Issa, the artist's son, revealed details of his deteriorating health condition, stating that the crisis began with a severe cold that led to acute inflammation of the airways, which then progressed to life-threatening pneumonia.
He added that his health deteriorated rapidly, leaving him in a semi-comatose state where he was unable to move or speak.
Sami explained that the treating physician warned of the risks of using mouth ventilators, as they could damage the vocal cords, and suggested a tracheotomy to safely use the ventilators.
The procedure has already been performed hours ago, but his condition remains critical.
Sami mentioned that the artist Ashraf Zaki, head of the acting professions syndicate, is in constant communication with their family, closely monitoring the situation and providing the necessary support.
Naeem Issa, 92 years old, is considered one of the most prominent artists in the history of Egyptian theater and cinema.
He began his artistic career in the early 1950s, participating in many famous plays such as "Raya and Sakina" and "Al-Wad Sayed Al-Shaghal," as well as notable films and TV series like "Alexandria, Why" and "The Beggar."
