Marrakesch erlebt die Rückkehr von Syrien, Libyen und Mauretanien zur Mitgliedschaft in "Aman" in einer außerordentlichen Sitzung.

Fouad Aref, General Director of the Maghreb Arab Press Agency and President of the Association of Mediterranean News Agencies (AMAN), announced the return of Syria, Libya, and Mauritania to the membership of the association during the opening of the thirty-third session of the organization's General Assembly in the Moroccan city of Marrakech.
Aref stated that this step represents an important boost to the media cooperation among Mediterranean countries, noting that the current session, held under the slogan "Football and Media in the Mediterranean Region... Building Bridges Beyond Borders," witnesses a record participation of member agencies' representatives.
He added that the session's slogan reflects the association's direction towards enhancing integration among member news agencies by expanding the exchange of news content, developing joint training programs, as well as establishing specialized mechanisms to verify the accuracy of news and combat media misinformation.
The General Assembly's events, which continue until tomorrow, Thursday, include holding dialogues discussing the relationship between media and sports, signing cooperation agreements between member agencies, in addition to a ceremony to award the "AMAN" honorary prizes for the best journalistic works during the year.
It is worth mentioning that "AMAN" was founded in 1991 as a regional organization aiming to enhance media cooperation among official news agencies in Mediterranean basin countries through exchanging experiences, developing capacities, and combating fake news.
