Minister of Public Works and Housing, Engineer Mustafa Abdul Razzaq, met with the Governor of Homs, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Aama, at the ministry building in Damascus to discuss the situation of the affected neighborhoods in the city of Homs as a result of the atrocities of the former regime. They also discussed practical steps to expedite the recovery and reconstruction process in those areas to restore life to normal as quickly as possible. The meeting included the presentation of a set of plans and measures aimed at organizing and developing the city of Homs comprehensively, focusing on rehabilitating the devastated areas systematically to create an attractive environment for investment that supports construction and development efforts. Emphasis was placed on enhancing collaboration among various stakeholders and official institutions to ensure the efficient implementation of reconstruction projects within precise timelines. Both sides discussed the necessity of building reconstruction plans based on modern principles and standards that meet urban development requirements, ensuring the improvement of service delivery and infrastructure in the city to provide decent living conditions and encourage residents to return to their homes and neighborhoods as soon as possible. They agreed to continue joint coordination between the ministry and Homs province to overcome any obstacles hindering project implementation and accelerate work in the affected areas within a comprehensive national plan for recovery and reconstruction.
