Barak: The Future of a Prosperous and Peaceful Syria is in the Hands of Syria and Its Regional Partners

U.S. Special Envoy to Syria Thomas Barak said today, Wednesday, that "the future of a prosperous and peaceful Syria is in the hands of Syria and its regional partners, such as the Qatari company UCC and the Turkish groups Cengiz and Kalyon, which won the contract to build, operate, and transfer the new Damascus International Airport with the lifting of sanctions by the President of the United States."

In a post on the "X" platform, Barak added: "I was pleased to attend the signing ceremony in Damascus today, and the path to recovery must begin with incremental steps starting with building the foundations of security and stability, followed by governmental systems, and ultimately fostering a spirit of initiative and prosperity."
