With the participation of Sheikh Ghazal Ghazal and Al-Hijri online.. SDF holds a conference on the unity of the positions of Syrian components

The "Syrian Democratic Forces" (SDF) organized a conference in the city of Hasakah today, Friday, August 8, under the title "Unity of the Position of the Components of Northeast Syria," with the participation of a number of tribal sheikhs and political and community leaders, in an attempt to enhance dialogue about the decentralized governance system.
The conference, which witnessed the participation of nearly 400 people, included several tribal dignitaries, including Sheikh Ghazal Ghazal and Sheikh Al-Hijri via video call, while the invited list included representatives from political parties, unions, and civil society organizations, in addition to media and cultural figures.
Member of the preparatory committee, Jwan Mala Ibrahim, indicated that the conference aims to "enhance the unity of visions among the components of the region," considering that the common demands revolve around "building a decentralized system that ensures equality within a unified Syria."
In this context, the "Syria TV" website reported that sources close to the organizers confirmed that the final statement of the conference will include calls for launching a comprehensive national dialogue, focusing on the necessity of amending the constitution to ensure broader participation of local components, alongside calls for achieving transitional justice and community reconciliation.
On the other hand, tribal sources reported that officials in the "SDF" confirmed the importance of "enhancing the powers of local administration," referring to the organization's efforts to transfer broader authorities to the residents in the areas under its influence. The sources also spoke about the "SDF"'s intention to gradually withdraw from some areas, "after ensuring the existence of local administrations capable of managing affairs independently."
This conference comes as part of a series of prior meetings that brought together "SDF" officials with tribal sheikhs in Deir ez-Zor and Raqqa, during which ways to enhance popular support for the decentralization project were discussed.
